My name is Phumelele Tau: a wife, mother of two, writer, producer, and dreamer who deeply loves creating.

Mama Haus was born very close to home: out of my own experience of mothering while working. Like so many women, I longed for a space where I could be with my children while also honoring the work placed in my hands.

Not a crèche.
Not an office.
Something in between.

But each time I tried to find that balance, I discovered how few spaces were designed with mothers in mind. The world keeps asking us to split ourselves, but God did not design us in pieces.

So I began imagining a place where the fullness of both could live:
Where mothers could work peacefully,
Where children could be safely tended to nearby,
Where we could breastfeed without shame,
Where our identities didn’t have to shrink to fit a single box.

And so, Mama Haus was born, first as a thought, then a conviction, then a calling.

My hope is that Mama Haus becomes more than a workspace. I hope it becomes a community of mothers who encourage one another, share wisdom, build businesses and ministries, and create beauty inside and outside the home.

I’m building this not because I have all the answers, but because I needed this too.
